 1. 1842: Satyendranath Tagore, a Bengali official and literary scholar, was born.


2. 1874: East India Company dissolved.


3. 1904: Four Language Panel used for Rangoon. The panel was made up of Burmese, Urdu, Tamil, and Chinese languages.


4. 1916: Lokmanya Tilak roars `` Freedom (Swaraj) is my birthright " in Ahmednagar.


5. 1929: Nargis, one of the leading actors in Indian cinema, was born as Fatima Rashid.


6. 1930: India's first high-speed luxury 'Deccan Queen' train runs from Victoria Terminus (CST) to Pune.


7. 1945: The Tata Fundamental Research Institute was established.


8. 1959: Chinese settle in Tibet and the Dalai Lama flees to India.


9. 1964: Nava Paisa, founded in 1947, was renamed “Paisa”.


10. In 1972 the Space Commission and the Department of Atmosphere were established. The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has been submitted to the Department of Space (DOS).


11. 1985: Indian cricket player Dinesh Karthik was born.

 

12. 1987: Khawaja Ahmad Abbas, Indian film director and screenwriter, has passed away.


13. 1993: Premkumar Sharma, Member of Parliament for the Bariya Janata Party is assassinated.


14. 1996: Neelam Sanjiva Reddy, the sixth President of India, dies.
